BPC-157 (BPC 157 or Body Protection Compound-157) is a stable, 15-amino-acid peptide derived from human gastric juice, supplied as a high-purity lyophilized powder. In in vitro and preclinical studies, itโ€™s used to investigate mechanisms of angiogenesis, cytoprotection, tissue repair, and anti-inflammatory signaling.

Mechanism of action

Angiogenesis via VEGFR2-Akt-eNOS Pathway

BPC-157 upregulates VEGFR2 expression and promotes its internalization, activating the downstream Akt-eNOS cascade in endothelial cells, which increases nitric oxide production and drives new vessel formation.

Cytoprotection & Gastrointestinal Integrity

BPC-157 stabilizes cell membranes and preserves mucosal blood flow, protecting gastric and other epithelial tissues against NSAID- and alcohol-induced injury by modulating nitric oxide pathways and stress-response mechanisms.

Tissue Repair, Collagen Synthesis & Anti-Inflammatory Effects

In injury models, BPC-157 enhances fibroblast migration and collagen deposition via FAK-paxillin signaling, reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine release, and accelerates wound closure in skin, tendon, and muscle tissues.

Storage & handling

Storage:

Store the lyophilized vial in a cool, dry area protected from direct sunlight.
