Tesamorelin

Original price was: $100.00.Current price is: $70.00.

Tesamorelin is a synthetic 44-amino-acid analog of growth-hormoneโ€“releasing hormone (GHRH), supplied as a high-purity lyophilized powder. It is designed to activate the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotrophs and is used in in vitro and preclinical research to study endogenous growth hormone release, GH-axis signaling, downstream IGF-1 activity, and metabolic pathway dynamics. Tesamorelin includes an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl modification that distinguishes it from native GHRH and improves peptide stability while preserving GHRH receptor activity. Unlike direct growth hormone, tesamorelin acts upstream by stimulating receptor-mediated GH release rather than supplying GH externally.

Mechanism of action

GHRH / GRF Receptor Agonism

Tesamorelin acts as an analog of human growth-hormoneโ€“releasing hormone. It binds and stimulates GHRH / GRF receptors on pituitary somatotroph cells, activating the endogenous growth hormone release pathway. This receptor-level activity makes tesamorelin useful for studying pituitary GH secretion, GH pulse dynamics, and upstream control of the somatotropic axis.

Endogenous Growth Hormone Release

By stimulating the GHRH receptor, tesamorelin supports synthesis and pulsatile release of endogenous growth hormone from pituitary somatotroph cells. This distinguishes tesamorelin from recombinant growth hormone, which bypasses upstream hypothalamic-pituitary signaling and acts directly as the hormone itself.

Downstream IGF-1 Signaling

Growth hormone released from the pituitary can stimulate hepatic and peripheral production of insulin-like growth factor 1. IGF-1 is a major downstream mediator of GH-axis activity and is involved in anabolic signaling, tissue remodeling, and metabolic regulation.Tesamorelin is therefore useful in research models examining the relationship between GHRH receptor activation, GH release, IGF-1 response, and downstream endocrine signaling.
